Privacy Policy

Dwell Richly is a Bible reading accountability app designed to help people encourage one another in consistent engagement with Scripture. This Privacy Policy explains what information Dwell Richly collects, how that information is used and shared, and the choices available to you.

Information We Collect

Account Information: We collect your name, email address, phone number, and authentication information necessary to create and maintain your account. Passwords are handled through our authentication provider and are not stored by Dwell Richly in readable form.

Group Information: We store information about accountability groups you create or join, including group names, group membership, and invitations.

Bible Reading Check-Ins: When you indicate that you have read the Bible for the day, we store the date of that check-in. Dwell Richly does not require you to provide the passage you read or the content of your Bible reading.

How We Use Information

• create and maintain your account;
• allow you to create and join accountability groups;
• display daily Bible reading check-in status and group progress;
• allow group members to encourage one another;
• provide account management and security features; and
• maintain and improve the reliability and security of the app.

We do not sell your personal information.

Information Shared With Other Group Members

Dwell Richly is designed around accountability within groups. Members of a group may be able to see certain information about other members of that group, including:

• your name;
• whether you have checked in as having read the Bible that day; and
• your phone number where necessary to support the app's encouragement and messaging functionality.

You should join groups only with people with whom you are comfortable sharing this information.

Encouragement and Text Messages

Dwell Richly allows group members to encourage one another using the messaging capabilities of their device. When a user chooses to encourage another member, Dwell Richly may provide the recipient's phone number to Apple's Messages interface. Messages are composed and sent by the user through the device's messaging services.

Dwell Richly does not automatically send text messages on a user's behalf and does not store the contents of messages composed or sent through Apple's Messages app. Your use of Messages is also subject to Apple's applicable terms and privacy practices.

Service Providers

Dwell Richly uses Supabase to provide backend infrastructure, including authentication and database services. Information necessary to operate Dwell Richly may therefore be processed and stored using Supabase's services. Service providers process information on our behalf according to their applicable terms and privacy practices.

Data Security

We use reasonable technical measures designed to protect personal information. Dwell Richly uses authenticated accounts and database access controls designed to limit access to information based on a user's identity and group membership. No method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Data Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide Dwell Richly and maintain your account, unless a longer retention period is required by law.

When you delete your account, Dwell Richly deletes your account profile and associated personal data, including your group memberships, Bible reading check-ins, and invitations you created. Groups you created may remain available to their other members after your account is deleted, but your account will no longer be identified as the group's creator.

Account Deletion

You may delete your Dwell Richly account from within the app. Account deletion is permanent. When your account is deleted, the personal information associated with your account is removed as described above.

Children's Privacy

Dwell Richly is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without appropriate authorization, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

Legal Requirements

We may disclose information if reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, legal process, or governmental requests, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Dwell Richly, its users, or others.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Dwell Richly changes. If we make changes, we will update the effective date above. Material changes may also be communicated through the app or other appropriate means.
